Quick Take on WriteOnCon

I've never heard of an online convention before. So when I found out that an upcoming writer's convention would be held entirely online instead of at a convention center or hotel (like they usually are), my interest was definitely piqued. WriteOnCon is a convention specifically geared toward kidlit writers, but a quick glance at the first day's schedule reveals quite a few topics that could apply to writers of many genres. Best of all, it's FREE! If you're a children's or young adult fiction writer, or just a writer in general, check it out!

Special thanks go to Karly Kirkpatrick and her blog, without which I would never have stumbled upon this gem.

  2. I loved it! There was some very good information passed along throughout the three days, some of which echoed what I'd heard previously and some of which was very enlightening to read. The live chats especially were amazing, as most of my publishing info has been secondhand from fellow writers. It was great to be able to field all those burning questions and get the answers right from the source.

And while I wasn't as active on the forum as I'd have liked to be, I'm very pleased to have discovered such a great community of kidlit writers online. I also have a TON of books on my "to read" list from the convention!

I did this previously in another entry, but I don't mind saying it again: thank you so much for all your hard work in pulling WriteOnCon together. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated!

Writers love feedback on their work! Constructive criticism, comments and questions are always welcome, just keep it clean for the kids!
